Development Services

Responsibilities

The Development Services Department coordinates building permits, business licensing, bylaw enforcement, planning long range, planning current and subdivision. Coordination considers the following:

• Council approved plans, bylaws, policies and procedures
• Federal and provincial legislation
• Professional best practices

Development Services Department staff provide advice and recommendations to Council on the best methods to meet the community's social, economic and environmental goals.

The department also provides advice to other city departments, community and business groups, developers, property owners and residents.
