Minister of the Environment Mary Polak made a short stop in Salmon Arm on October 22 to attend the Shuswap Lake Integrated Planning Process, SLIPP, steering committee meeting. Minister Polak update the steering committee on the proposed new
Water Sustainability Act. According to Minister Polak, a significant change to the act is that it now includes ground water as well as surface water.
SLIPP as a three year pilot project for the years 2011, 2012, 2013 is wrapping up and looking to the future. The future focus of SLIPP, if approved by the members, will take a Shuswap watershed approach to Shuswap Lake water quality. Please review their
