**NOTE: please remember to include the decimal point in your folio/roll number

Complete the form on the bottom of your property tax notice and place in the drop box located to the left of the front doors of City Hall.

Paying your property taxes

Pay online through your Financial Institution - Although each bank differs, they all provide a Property Tax and a Utility option for the City of Salmon Arm:  For property taxes, use the Property Tax option and the last eight digits of the roll number (e.g. 01234567) which is printed at the top right hand corner of your tax notice.  To pay utilities, use the City of Salmon Arm Utilities option, and use the thirteen digit account number from your utility bill.  (e.g. 0001234567000).  Use no spaces, decimals, or dashes in the account number.

Payment Drop Box - There is a payment drop box located to the left of the front doors of the City Hall.  Place your cheque and/or Home Owner Grant in an envelope and drop it in the box.

Property Tax Deferment Program 

If you have questions regarding the Property Tax Deferment Program please visit https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/taxes/property-taxes/annual-property-tax/defer-taxes  or 1.888.355.2700.

Remember if you defer your taxes to claim your Homeowner Grant and remit you payments for utilities, garbage and recycling.

Pre-authorized Payment Plan

 If you would like to apply for the pre-authorized payment plan please complete the form enclosed with your property tax notice or complete online here:  https://www.salmonarm.ca/DocumentCenter/View/1921/2020-Prepayment-Application 

FAQ’s

  • Payments are withdrawn on the 15th of the month;
  • Current property taxes must be paid in full and homeowner grant (if applicable) claimed;
  • Forms can be completed online here;  
  • Forms can be faxed to 250.803.4001; emailed to prepayment@salmonarm.ca; or dropped off in the drop box;
  • If taxes are paid in full by July 2, 2020, prepayments will begin August 15;
  • If you choose to utilize the extended tax due date of September 30, 2020, prepayments will begin October 15.

Other Information

If you are the registered owner of property within the City of Salmon Arm and have not received your Property Tax Notice by June 15, please contact the property tax department.

Property Taxes are due September 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. A late payment penalty of 10% will be added to all unpaid  Property Taxes (including unclaimed Home Owner Grants), Annual Water/Sewer accounts at 4:00 p.m., September 30, 2020.
