At the November 9, 2020 City Council meeting, Council will be considering a Community Energy and Emissions Plan prepared by the Community Energy Association. This plan has been in the works for one year and the process has involved analysis and projections of the City’s carbon emissions, review by the City’s Environmental Advisory Committee, and setting a carbon emission reduction goal of 80% by the year 2050. Council directed this document to be prepared in response to its resolution of August 26, 2019. The Draft Plan was completed in March 2020 near the start of the COVID-19 crisis.
In relation to these document, public input will accepted up to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020. Written input can be sent via e-mail to cityhall@salmonarm.ca , or dropped off to City Hall at 500 2nd Avenue NE, or mailed to PO Box 40, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N2.
