At the November 9, 2020 City Council meeting, Council will be considering a Housing Needs Report and Community Housing Strategy each prepared by Urban Matters CCC LTD. These documents have been in the works for slightly over one year and the planning process has involved review by the City’s Housing Task Force and a Public Open House. The Housing Needs Report is intended to meet the legislative requirements - Division 22 - of the Local Government Act for all municipalities to have such a report completed by April 2022.
In relation to these documents, public input will accepted up to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020. Written input can be sent via e-mail to cityhall@salmonarm.ca , or dropped off to City Hall at 500 2nd Avenue NE, or mailed to PO Box 40, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N2.
