Please be advised that the Salmon Arm Refuse Disposal Site will be closed for one day on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. This closure is required to facilitate Phase 1 of the Scalehouse/Scale upgrade and replacement project. Phase 1 of the project is the replacement of the existing Scalehouse, which necessitates a full one day site closure.
Phase 2 of the project is the installation of a new outbound weigh scale. It is anticipated that Phase 2 will begin in early August, 2020. There may be delays over the course of three to four days during the installation, but a full closure of the site for this part of the project will not be required.
Once completed, it is expected that these upgrades will provide significant improvements to traffic flow and wait times at the site. The CSRD is also considering options to provide a priority lane for commercial haulers.
Thank you in advance for your patience during these upgrades. Please be advised that the Sicamous Refuse Disposal Site is open from 10 AM to 4PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 if you require an alternative waste disposal option on this day.
The Salmon Arm Refuse Disposal Site will reopen at 7 AM on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 to allow for commercial haulers to catch up from the previous days’ closure.
