SACP members are RCMP Associate Volunteers who patrol vulnerable areas of Salmon Arm and Canoe during afternoon and evening hours, set up radar-controlled Speed Watches to remind motorists of the posted speeds, carry out ICBC security-focused programs, assist at community events by monitoring pedestrian crossings and manning traffic barricades, and take part in city-wide Emergency Response Teams as needed.
SACP's major goals are:
Provide extra sets of eyes and ears for the RCMP;
Help prevent crime by being visible in "at risk" locations;
Use our uniforms and signage to remind citizens & visitors about laws & bylaws; and
Enhance the community's sense of security and well-being by providing another "sign" of law-enforcement presence.
