The City of Salmon Arm is seeking a group of up to seven (7) citizens with a background in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, planning and/or development to join the Design Review Panel for a term ending December 31, 2021.

The Design Review Panel’s mandate is to review development permit applications at scheduled meetings and to provide recommendations to City Council and Administration with respect to applicable guidelines. The City’s Official Community Plan (OCP) designates areas for commercial, industrial and multiple family residential development permit areas.  Each development permit area has architectural form and character objectives for new development and, in particular, guidelines intended for building, site and landscape design.  The Panel’s mandate is to review development permit applications at scheduled meetings and then provide recommendations to City Council with respect to the applicable guidelines.

Council will select and appoint Panel members.  Membership on the Panel is a voluntary basis.

The Terms of Reference and Application for this Panel are available for review at City Hall.

The number of meetings held over a term is dependent on the quantity of development permit applications received by the City. Meetings are held on weekdays usually during the afternoon.

Additional information may be obtained by contacting the undersigned. Interested individuals should submit a written application containing a brief statement outlining your relevant background and what you can contribute to the Panel. Applications will be received prior to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019.
